A consortium of more than a dozen private and public partners is working to bolster Wisconsin’s leadership in personalized medicine and biohealth technology. Part of the goal is to pursue designation by the federal Eco-nomic Development Administration (EDA) as a Regional Tech Hub, which would open the state to $75 million in federal funds under the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022.”Establishing a Regional Tech Hub in Wisconsin will only further advance our state’s standing as a leader in the biotech and personalized medicine industries while supporting jobs, economic growth, and research that will better our state, nation, and world,” said Governor Tony Evers. New projects have been announced in other sectors. Ingeteam announced in May 2023 that it will add a production line at its Milwaukee facility to manufacture EV chargers. ABB announced a $100 million plant and offices in New Berlin, and financial technology and payments company Fiserv announced it will relocate its global headquarters from Brookfield to downtown Milwaukee.
